Spotify has released its annual Year in Music top lists, which shed light on the most popular artists and songs around the world in 2015.

And the prize for the most-streamed artist of all time and most streamed artist of 2015 in the UK goes to... Ed Sheeran.

Yup, the down-to-earth British bloke is the most streamed artist of all time on Spotify, beating Eminem with more than 3 billion streams to date.

He also got crowned the most-streamed artist in the UK this year, with over 59 million listeners worldwide - while Drake beat him to be the world's most streamed artist of 2015, with over 1.8 billion streams this year and 46 million listeners.

It's been quite the year for music lovers. In 2015, more music was listened to by Spotify users than ever before, with over 75 million listeners enjoying over 20 billion hours of music.

2015’s most streamed female artist was Rihanna, with over one billion streams and 57 million listeners this year, while Justin Bieber set a record for the most streams in a single day of all time with 36 million streams on November 13.

Justin also broke records for the most album streams in a single week, with over 205m streams of Purpose. Check out all the stats in the tables below...
