Matthew McConaughey's Prom Picture Proves He Was Just As Cute In The '80s

Matthew McConaughey won the Best Actor Oscar on Sunday night, propelling him into the top tier of Hollywood A-listers.

But there's nothing like a resurfaced prom picture to remind a guy where he came from.

After his big win, Leah Pickett - the niece of Matthew's high school prom date - tweeted the amazing photo.

'My aunt's high school prom date just won an Oscar,' she wrote. 'Congrats, Matthew McConaughey!'

The picture (which would have been taken in the mid-1980s) shows the actor dressed in a black (rented, no doubt) tuxedo and a blue bowtie, which coordinates perfectly with his date's blue ruffly dress.

Though he's not quite as buff as he was pre-Dallas Buyers Club, teenage Matthew is tall, sweet and quite handsome. Sure, he looks a bit geeky - but that's part of this appeal.

So who was this lucky lady who snagged Matthew's heart long before he met his current wife, Camila Alves? Her niece says she's 'still beautiful, and happily married' - and apparently she's a huge fan of Oscars host Ellen DeGeneres.

'Dear @TheEllenShow: my Aunt Lori is holding off on interviews because she wants to do YOUR show. Let's make this happen!'

We're guessing Matthew isn't too concerned that his school picture has blown up the Twitterverse. He's likely much too busy celebrating his Oscar win to have noticed. Oh, and there may be a little something else keeping him busy...

The 44-year-old actor (who has three kids with Camila) reportedly shared his post-Oscars plans. According to The Sun, he said: 'We won’t stay at the after-party long - I want to go home and make another baby!'
