Daughter Vida Alves McConaughey is born on January 3rd
Matthew McConaughey has taken on a new role - as dad to new baby girl Vida Alves McConaughey.
The 40-year-old star of The Wedding Planner and his Brazilian model/designer wife Camila Alves welcomed their new addition into the world at 12.13am on January 3rd. The baby weighed in at 7lbs 7oz.
Vida is the couple's first daughter. They are already proud parents to son Levi, who is 18 months old.
A delighted McConaughey announced the birth on his personal website, explaining, 'Vida is Portuguese for 'life' and that's what God gave us this morning... Camila is recovering wonderfully and we are both truly honoured to welcome this little lady into our family.
'Thanks for all your well wishes and prayers along the way. Another blessed day. We give thanks. 'Just keep livin', Matthew and Camila.'
