Starring an all-British cast of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, David Gandy and Helena Bonham Carter, this year’s ad takes viewers on a spectacular fairy tale-themed journey inspired by some of our best-loved children's stories.
British model Rosie, who stars as the lead in the 'Magic & Sparkle'-themed advert, is taken on an enchanting ride where fashion meets fantasy as she's led into the enchanting worlds of Alice in Wonderland, Red Riding Hood and The Wizard of Oz.
Embodying Alice in a navy ruffle dress and matching hair bow, the 26-year-old Victoria's Secret beauty is later seen modelling her stunning silk Rosie for Autograph lingerie and sleepwear range in the festive spectacular.
The delectable Gandy makes a very suave Mad Hatter as he feasts in the wintery woodland wearing a red velvet dinner jacket, black-and-white cravat and top hat, while Helena Bonham Carter makes a special guest appearance as a style-savvy Wizard.
Patrick Bousquet-Chavanne, the executive director of marketing & business development at M&S, who is overseeing the company's Christmas campaign for the first time, said: "With this year’s ad we wanted to recapture the magical essence of Christmas that our customers tell us is synonymous with M&S.'
The ad was directed by Johan Renck, the creative genius behind many of Madonna's music videos, and will air on TV for the first time during the Coronation Street ad break on November 6.
