William Balfour has been given three life sentences for killing members of Jennifer Hudson's family
William Balfour, the man found guilty of killing three members of Jennifer Hudson’s family, has been given three consecutive life sentences.
Balfour, who was convicted of murdering Hudson’s mother, brother and nephew back in May, was sentenced to life in prison by a Chicago judge.
During the trial, prosecutors argued that Balfour committed the triple murder, which took place in October 2008, when his ex-girlfriend, Jennifer’s sister Julia, refused to get back together with him.
The jury deliberated for three days before returning a guilty verdict over the deaths of Darnell Donerson, Jason Hudson, and seven-year-old Julian King.
Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson was present in court to hear the sentencing.
