Madonna hits gym after 50th birthday bash

Madonna may have turned 50 but she's not about to let things slide.

Far from enjoying a lie-in after her riotous birthday bash at the London club Volstead on Saturday night, Sunday morning found her making her usual trip to the gym.

Her husband Guy Ritchie spent £100,000 on a luxury spread which included bottles of pink Krug champagne, mountains of caviar and kosher wagyu beef burgers.

Madonna, dressed in black and draped in a tangle of gold necklaces, spent hours on the dancefloor with performers from her upcoming tour.

The other guests were family, including Madonna's children Lourdes, 11, Rocco, eight, and adopted toddler David, close friends and employees.

Clearly making an effort after the pair pledged to give their marriage another go, Ritchie, her husband of seven years, presented her with a specially designed £250,000 Bulgari diamond necklace and earrings. He is also said to have commissioned graffitit artist Banksy to create a £450,000 portrait of Madonna to mark her milestone birthday.

And as if that wasn't enough, he's also had a rose named after her and organised for a vegetable garden to be dug at Ashcombe, their estate on the Wiltshire border, so she can cultivate organic vegetables.

Madonna's brother Christopher Ciccone sent flowers in an attempt to make up for his tell-all book, Life With My Sister.
