Lily Allen being treated for depression

Lily Allen is undergoing treatment for depression at a top London clinic, it has been reported today.

The troubled singer is said to have sank into despair after recently suffering a miscarriage.

Soon after she lost her baby, Allen also split with her lover Ed Simons, of the Chemical Brothers, who, friends say, she thought was ‘The One’.

One insider told the Sun: ‘The last couple of months have been really hard for Lily.

‘She was so happy to be pregnant and was willing to give up her showbiz life to settle down and have a family.

‘Her miscarriage was a huge blow and she hasn’t really recovered.’

The source added: ‘She has tried to put on a brave face but she found she needed to get some professional help.’

After Lily suffered her miscarriage in January, her relationship with Ed tragically hit the rocks – despite a £3000-a-night holiday to the Maldives, where the pair tried to sort things through.

Friends say she is responding well to the treatment, which isn’t getting in the way of filming for her new TV show.

Lily left the clinic on Monday evening and headed for a girlie night at the Groucho Club. But the star faced more misery when she emerged to find that the window on her new BMW had been smashed in.
