'Remember, when you look at these pictures you are violating these women again and again.' Lena Dunham shames everyone who took a peek at the leaked celebrity photos on Twitter, proving why we love her all over again.

This week, news broke of hundreds of intimate and private - private - photos of female celebrities being hacked and leaked online. Much to the horror of the victims, including Jennifer Lawrence, Cara Delevingne and Kate Upton, the authorities were unable to stop naked photos being posted online for all to see.

While some stars have stayed tight lipped on whether the photos are authentic or not (Ariana Grande has claimed pictures of her are fake), a spokes person for Jennifer Lawrence has confirmed the photos are real - but has threatened legal action to anyone who reposts the photos online. Kate Upton has also come forward to say that the photos are real, but are a 'gross violation' of privacy - and we have to agree.

This series of shocking events has set the internet alight, with celebrities and fans posting opposing - and sometimes offensive - views on celebrities taking nude photos of themselves. While some placed the blame at the feet of the celebrites or rejoiced at being able to see their favourite starlets naked, others took things further with out-and-out slut-shaming.

But there are those who have come out to support the victims. Fans have started to post their own nude photos with the hashtag #leakforJLAW and other a-listers have come out in support of their fellow actresses. But it's Girls creator, Lena Dunham, who has come up with the best response so far.

The outspoken star totally summed up our feelings in a series of powerful tweets, which culminated in this perfectly put together statement:

"The way in which you share your body must be a CHOICE. Support these women and do not look at these pictures.

Remember, when you look at these pictures you are violating these women again and again. It's not ok.

Seriously, do not forget that the person who stole these pictures and leaked them is not a hacker: they're a sex offender.

The "don't take naked pics if you don't want them online" argument is the "she was wearing a short skirt" of the web. Ugh."

This is why we love her.
