Quirky popstar dines with the controversial Wikileaks founder after Harrods perfume launch
In one of the most bizarre meetings of minds ever, Lady Gaga spent last night having dinner with Julian Assange in the Ecuadorian embassy in London.
The singer had been promoting her new perfume ‘Fame’ in Harrods before she met with the controversial WikiLeaks founder who has been holed up in the embassy after receiving asylum from Ecuador’s government.
Gaga posted a picture of the pair onto her website. She was dressed all in black and wearing a witch’s hat (obviously).
The unlikely dinner partners spent five hours together, with Gaga emerging around midnight.
Earlier M.I.A. had tweeted Gaga saying ‘if ur at harrods today, come visit Assange at the Ecuador embassy across the st. im there. Ill bring TEA and CAKE (sic).’
A spokesperson for the embassy said Gaga had visited but she was unsure if M.I.A. had been there too.
Assange is fighting extradition to Sweden where he is facing allegations of sexual abuse.
