The starlet has just given birth to daughter Polly, five weeks before her due date
Coronation Street actress Kym Marsh has given birth to a baby girl after going into premature labour, but is said to be ‘doing well,’ a spokesperson confirmed this morning.
The starlet and her Hollyoaks beau Jamie Lomas welcomed the arrival of their daughter Polly, at the Manchester Royal Infirmary yesterday evening.
Their new addition was born five weeks before her due date, weighing in at 4lbs and 1oz.
‘Jamie Lomas and Kym Marsh are delighted to announce that they are the proud parents of a baby girl, Polly Lomas,’ said their spokesperson.
‘Both mother and baby are doing well.’
The healthy birth will come as welcome relief for Kym and Jamie, who suffered the tragic loss of their first child Archie back in 2009 – after he was born 18 weeks prematurely and died shortly after birth.
The actress – who has two children from a previous marriage – was forced to take early maternity leave from Coronation Street following a bout of the flu, and had been confined to her bed in recent days.
‘This pregnancy has been really difficult,’ Kym said previously. ‘A nightmare, in fact. We’ve been on eggshells.’
‘But it’s lovely when we see her on the scan and when I feel her wriggling.’
Congratulations to the happy couple!
