Kylie Minogue still hasn’t given up her dream of cracking America – and the determined popstrel is currently on the US promotional trail just as her new album X hits the shops Stateside.

Looking stunning in a dazzling Ashley Isham one-shouldered dress and maroon YSL Tribute Platform Sandals (the new celebrity It-shoe), Kylie first hit New York for an interview on The Today Show.

She's also got appearances lined up on Dancing with the Stars and talk shows The Ellen DeGeneres Show and the Late Late Show to promote X.

Kylie has only had two top ten hits in the US — The Locomotion in 1988 and Can’t Get You Out Of My Head in 2002. But her fans have been contacting radio stations and TV shows in the States begging them to give her greater exposure.

One insider told The Sun: 'It eats away at Kylie that she’s never hit the big time there.

'She has tried before and it didn’t happen. But being the kind of determined person she is, she’s giving it one more go.'

But viewers in the US yesterday praised her Today Show appearance.

She spoke honestly of her recent breast cancer battle, revealing: 'I’m feeling great. It’s something that’s always with me and on my mind. But you get up and carry on.

'My diagnosis was almost a blessing in disguise because it came as I was mid-flight on tour. That’s why I wanted to get back on track — it was an incredible goal to have to get back on stage.'
