Will they EVER get around to making a third SATC film? Here's what Kristin Davis has to say about the issue...

Kristin Davis has heard the rumours, just like the rest of us, that a third Sex and the City film could become a reality. But she thinks it's up to you (and us, and everyone...) to make the decision.

Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall have both weighed in recently on the possibility of Sex and the City 3. After hearing that both actresses are open to the idea, we started to feel hopeful.

And then the series creator Michael Patrick King admitted there's still one chapter left - and we got really hopeful.

But Kristin says we're going to have to start showing our excitement if we really want the film to happen.

'If the fans weren’t interested I don’t think it would ever happen,' she said on The Jonathan Ross Show, explaining that the creators would need to be convinced of the demand for a third film.

'It was a struggle to get both the first movie and the second movie made, partly because we’re a franchise starring four women over forty and that just frankly doesn’t happen. It’s only from our fan support that anything ever happened ever in the film region. I think the third, if it does happen, is because people talk about us, we’re still on the air, there is the fan support and so it means a lot to us.'

Okay, so if there is a third film (fingers crossed), what will the ladies be up to? No one knows for certain - though we can be pretty sure they won't be going back to Abu Dhabi.

But Kristin, 49, does have some brilliant ideas.

'I haven’t been let in on the secrets which is good because I would have trouble being quiet about it in a moment such as this,' she said. 'But my guess if I had to guess would be that we would go back to New York, go back to our roots, more kind of how the show was in the beginning. The New York City day-to-day on the streets.'

That's exactly what we'd hope to see from a third film. Maybe they should let Kristin write the script...
