Kim Sears and Andy Murray swapped the tennis courts for Buckingham Palace today as they spent the morning collecting Andy's OBE from Buckingham Palace.

What was a historic moment for Andy Murray's family, was also one for the royals – who saw Prince William held his very first investiture in the place of the Queen. The future King presented Andy with his OBE – making him an Officer of the Order of the British Empire – in front of his emotional parents and a very proud Kim Sears.

Kim Sears became quite the fixture at Wimbledon 2013 as she watched her long-term boyfriend secure his title as world champion – but it was her beauty and style efforts which made the most headlines. Rocking Victoria Beckham at one match (the pair are managed by Simon Fuller) and Burberry at the winners' celebratory meal, it was at one point thought that the pair could land themselves a partnership with a major fashion house.

Those hoping that the pair were set to be the next faces of Burberry's ad campaign will be left disappointed, though – as Kim was rocking a monochrome dress by Matthew Williamson for her Buckingham Palace date today.

She kept her famous golden locks tied neatly back underneath a berry pill box hat. Kate Middleton would certainly approve.

Congrats, Andy!
