Fifty Shades of Grey has racked up another celebrity fan, this time Sex and the City's Kim Cattrall, who praises the raunchy trilogy for giving older women a new lease of life.

About the best-selling books, written by E L James, she said: 'It’s fun – whatever turns you on.

'All these women of a certain age are finally having fun and what’s wrong with that? We’re all adults.'

Kim, who is most famous for playing the very sexually active Samantha Jones in Sex and the City, also denied that she's been asked to star as Elena, the Mrs Robinson-style character in Fifty Shades of Grey.

She told The Sun: 'No one has told me about that, but I thoroughly enjoyed the book.'
