KATY'S STYLE HIGHS & LOWS

While Perry's new fiancé, Russell Brand, might think he was the one who decided to pop the question, Katy says it was actually her decision - he just didn't realise at the time.

'I was trying to make him tell me that he wanted to marry me telepathically,' she told Star magazine. 'Every night we looked into each other's eyes and I was thinking, "Please ask me, please ask me."'

Thankfully for Katy, Russell was easily won over.

'When we finally talked about the idea of getting married, he admitted he was thinking the same,' she continued. 'He'd been trying to tell me that I was the woman he wanted to marry by communicating it with his eyes. So all the time we'd been sending each other subliminal messages!'

As for all those wedding stories circulating, Katy says don't believe everything you read.

'Russell makes up these really crazy stories about me and our wedding. I make up stories, too - I said he was a 'groomzilla'. He said I farted a lot, but I've never farted in front of him - honestly!' she adds.

'I hear these crazy stories - we are going to get married in latex, underwear, in Spandex, in Japan, in India, in Thailand. But I think all this craziness about my marriage is really funny. And I don't set the record straight as I love this chaotic circus of wrong information, because it is not really anyone else's business beside the people that we have invited and us, of course.'
