The star had to be pulled out of the gruelling Deathly Burrows challenge by medics
In a challenge named Deathly Burrows, the star had to crawl through a series of rat and cockroach infested tunnels in the dark and collect stars to win food for the rest of the camp.
But events took a turn for the worse when the small space was flooded with water. The model – who suffered a swimming accident as a child – panicked, and shouted to be pulled free as medics rushed in to get her out.
The star emerged violently shaking and close to tears, and hyperventilated as medical staff tried to calm her down.
After catching her breath, Katie returned to be interviewed by Ant and Dec, saying ‘That was awful. Oh my God. I thought I was going to drown.’
She added ‘I feel absolutely gutted that I couldn’t get more stars. As soon as that water came it reminded me of my swimming accident and I thought I couldn’t breathe so I had to get out of there.’
Katie collected just four out of 12 stars, meaning the camp received only tiny food rations.
Talking about her fear of water, the star said, ‘Basically I used to swim for Sussex and when I was younger.
‘I used to train three or four times a week, and all I remember was I was swimming and I felt I was being dragged under, and they had to pull me out of the water and my legs were numb and it was as if they were paralysed. I know it’s in my head but I can’t break that barrier’
And it seems the public have it in for poor Miss Price. The model has been voted to take part in tonight’s trail, Celebrity in a Bottle, too.
