Denise McAdam, longtime hair stylist for the Royal family, shares her thoughts on the Duchess' famous strands

Kate Middleton's hair is enveyed by women all over the globe.

The Duchess of Cambridge almost always has her long brunette locks perfectly blown out and styled in chic cascading curls. Now one insider is dishing about the work behind the blowout - and sharing one tiny criticism of the Duchess' 'do.

Denise McAdam, who worked as a hairstylist for the Royal family for more than 35 years, spoke to Radio Times magazine about Kate's iconic waves.

'I'm a good friend of the Duchess of Cambridge,' McAdam said. 'I think her hair is wonderful, maybe a little overdone at times. But she always looks lovely.'

The 55-year-old hairdresser from Edinburgh (who no longer works for the Royals) revealed that the most important part of her job was discretion. She was awarded the Royal Victorian Medal for her services in 2010 and said the honour was ‘for 35 years of keeping my mouth shut.'

Guess she's decided now's the time to open up!
