Kate Middleton Misses Out On Prince William's Annual Polo Match

The Duchess of Cambridge and her pup Lupo were noticeably absent at the annual Audi Polo Challenge in Chester yesterday.

Kate Middleton missed out on another major event in the royal calendar yesterday. The pregnant Duchess of Cambridge was noticeably absent from the annual Audi Charity Polo Challenge in Chester, which she attended last year with her puppy Lupo.

It's thought that Kate was resting at home and preparing for the birth of her baby, which is due to arrive in mid-July. But the royal's absence didn't distract Prince William from the task at hand – in fact, the Duke of Cambridge managed to take the Audi quattro team to victory and win the game.

Prince William, who looked dashing on his horse, was watched by over 300 VIP guests, which included Douglas Booth, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Darcey Bussell, Colin Salmon, Jeremy Irvine and Naomie Harris.

Last year, Kate famously rocked up the charity match with her new puppy Lupo. Dressed in a stunning teal green £185 dress from Libélula, all eyes were on the Duchess as she chatted to friends and family while supporting Wills.

The Duke narrowly avoided coming off his horse yesterday, but if Kate's his lucky charm, he certainly coped well without her.

Maybe next year Kate and Lupo will get to return to the match. And here's hoping they'll be joined by their mini royal...
