'Kate Middleton is a true person' says Helen Mirren

Kate Middleton has been awarded another celebrity fan as Helen Mirren sings her praises

Kate Middleton rarely puts an L.K. Bennett-heeled foot wrong and while it’s won her the nation’s heart she’s also been awarded the approval of Helen Mirren.

In a recent interview, the Oscar winner couldn’t help but stress how much she liked the Duchess of Cambridge.

Speaking to Parade magazine Helen said: ‘[Kate is] exactly what the monarchy needs - an ordinary girl. She's going to be terrific.

‘We're lucky to have such a true person as Kate Middleton.’

And Helen should know. She got a good insight into royal life and with it the pressure and stresses when she portrayed Queen Elizabeth II in the film biopic, The Queen, in 2006.

Kate took a break from winning over the A-list and was back to her day job last night as she attended the opening of the Natural History Museum’s Treasure exhibition.

For the event the royal chose to show off a new glossy fringe that gave a fresher twist on her big blow-dried curls.
