Kate Middleton has arrived in Grimbsy an hour and a half late after her helicopter was delayed due to poor weather.

The pregnant Duchess of Cambridge chose to keep her growing baby bump concealed under her favourite Hobbs Celeste coat and a pretty dress from Great Plains.

Hundreds of wellwishers greeted Kate as she arrived at the Fishing Heritage Centre in the Lincolnshire town.

Kate Middleton's decision to travel by helicopter raised a few eyebrows this morning and St James's Palace released a statement explaining why.

A spokesperson said: 'There a number of factors taken into consideration when it comes to royal engagements.

'It depends on what the member of the royal family is doing before or after and how long the journey takes.

'It was decided that the most suitable way to travel to Grimsby was to come by helicopter.'

Later on Kate will visit the Humberside Fire and Rescue Service where, as well as meeting the on-duty firemen and women, she will talk to young people taking part in personal development courses run by Prince Charles’s charity, The Prince’s Trust.
