Kate Middleton has picked Amanda Cook Tucker to travel with her on her tour of South East Asia

Kate Middleton has selected a relatively unknown hair stylist to join her on the upcoming Diamond Jubilee tour of South East Asia.

The Duchess of Cambridge has long been a client of the Richard Ward salon in Chelsea, and on her trip to Canada and Los Angeles last year the salon's senior stylist, James Pryce, accompanied her, but this time Kate has chosen Amanda Cook Tucker to join her.

Paid for by the Prince of Wales at an estimated cost of £300 per day, Cook Tucker will be part of Kate and Prince William's entourage as they travel around Singapore, Malaysia, Borneo, the Solomon Islands and the tiny South Pacific nation of Tuvalu.

A source told the Mail Online: 'She’s a hard worker. Kate still goes to Richard Ward, she’s very loyal that way, but doesn’t always want to go into a salon. It can be a bit of an upheaval and she is often photographed going there.

'With Amanda she can have her hair done in the comfort of her own house. Amanda is an expert at what Kate loves – full glossy blow dries that hold.

‘She is going to be indispensable on the trip as Kate will be in hot, humid weather and she’s going to want her hair to look great.’

Nice work if you can get it!
