Buckingham Palace has revealed that Kate Middleton and Prince William spent £52,000 on a flight from Los Angeles to London.
The expensive journey was made at the end of the William and Kate‘s Royal visit to Canada and the USA in the summer of 2011.
The pair racked up a bill of £52,000 on a single flight from LA to London on which they and their team of seven staff travelled.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge weren’t the only members of the Royal family to splash the taxpayer’s cash on travel, the Annual Report into Royal Public Finances showed that the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall’s tour of the Middle East, South Africa and Tanzania cost £460,387.
Prince Harry’s jubilee tour in March cost £107,098.
The cost of the monarchy on the taxpayer rose £200,000 to £32.3 million during the last financial year, the Buckingham Palace accounts showed.
