Jennifer Lopez in talks to replace Sharon Osbourne as judge on The X Factor
POP DIVA JENNIFER Lopez is being lined up to replace Sharon Osbourne as a judge on The X Factor.
Show bosses reportedly approached the Bronx-born star after it emerged that sharp-tongued Sharon was planning to quit.
And it’s said they’re now thrashing out negotiations which would see J-Lo working alongside Louis Walsh, Dannii Minogue and Simon Cowell in the next series.
It wouldn’t be the first time the singer has worked with Cowell – she made a guest appearance coaching contestants on American Idol in April and will perform during the live finals next month.
‘Getting Dannii on board has proved a big hit. Now Simon wants to take the show to the next level and make X Factor an international success. People Stateside will tune in just to see Jen,’ explains an inside source.
‘She won’t come cheap but Simon knows it will be a great investment – just the thing the show needs to become a hit in the States.’
J-Lo was a huge hit on Dancelife, MTV’s US dance version of X Factor, and Simon knows he’ll need a big star to fill Sharon’s shoes.
‘Osbourne is a big name in both the UK and the States. The void she leaves will be hard to fill,’ added the source.
‘Simon knows he will need someone bigger than anyone they’ve got already. Jennifer could be that person.’
