James Corden may miss tonight's BRIT Awards

James Corden could be forced to pull out of hosting tonight's BRIT Awards due to tonsillitis, according to reports. The comedian was sent home from rehearsals after falling ill but a spokesperson for Corden has denied the severity of the illness, saying the situation has been 'greatly overplayed'.

'There’s no danger of James pulling out of the BRITS as it’s one of the biggest nights of the year,' a source told The Sun.

'He’ll battle through the tonsillitis – he’s used to taking care of his voice from his time in theatre. But it’s still not ideal in the run-up to the show.'

This will be the fourth year Corden has hosted the awards which will take place at London's O2 Arena tonight.

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE TO PERFORM AT BRITS AWARDS

Last year he caused controversy when he was forced to cut off the British national treasure that is Adele halfway through her acceptance speech for best female solo artist, causing her to swear and flip the bird on live television.

Corden later said he was 'furious and put in a horrible position' about the cut.

In what is being described as the best line-up in the BRITS’ 33-year history, viewers can expect to see performances and appearances from a whole host of high profile stars, including Justin Timberlake, Muse, One Direction, Taylor Swift, Robbie Williams and Emeli Sande.
