David and Victoria Beckham have apparently splashed out £10,000 on a personalised baby monitor

We always knew Harper Beckham wouldn't want for anything, but is spending £10,000 on a baby monitor personalised by artist Damien Hirst a bit extravagant?

David and Victoria Beckham have reportedly splashed out an absolute fortune on a baby monitor adorned with butterflies designed by the artist.

The Beckhams are long-time fans of Hirst's art - he's most famous for preserving dead animals in formaldehyde - and have bought Harper the special listening device to add to their collection of work by the Brit, which also consists of a pair of high heels decorated by him, which are thought to be worth £250,000.

Mrs Beckham also owns a pair of personalised Manolo Blahnik ankle boots, to which he added the note: 'Posh boots for a Posh bird.'

Add to that three paintings and a silver bull's heart given to Victoria by Goldenballs as a gift and you're looking at a Damien Hirst collection worth millions.

Art critic David Lee told The Sun: 'The value also goes up because it has hung in the house of celebrities.'

Yikes!
