Heath Ledger's family give his millions to daughter Matilda

Heath Ledger’s family have given every penny of the late actor’s fortune to his daughter, Matilda, it has been reported.

The 28-year-old actor left everything to his sisters and parents, but the will was signed by Heath on 12 April 2003 – two years before his daughter Matilda was born.

It was expected that Matilda’s mother, the actress Michelle Williams, would lodge a claim on the will on behalf of their daughter, but Ledger’s father, Kim, told Australia’s Herald Sun that the family have decided to give it all to her anyway.

The star of Brokeback Mountain and The Dark Knight left half his estate to sisters Kate and Olivia Ledger and Ashleigh Bell. The rest was to go to his parents, Kim Ledger and Sally Bell, after debts had been paid.

Kim told the paper: ‘There is no claim. Our family has gifted everything to Matilda.’

Adelaide accountant and executor of the Ledger estate, Mark Dyson, said he could not reveal exactly what Matilda would inherit, but estimated it to be in the millions. Some US reports have suggested the sum is £9 million.
