Harper Beckham prompts sales surge in To Kill a Mockingbird

Since David and Victoria Beckham named their daughter after author Harper Lee, sales of her classic novel have soared

She may be only just a week old, but little Harper Seven Beckham is already setting trends, prompting a sales surge of the classic novel, To Kill A Mockingbird.

David and Victoria named their first daughter after the book’s author, Harper Lee, and since the announcement, sales of the classic read have soared by 123 per cent on Amazon.co.uk.

First published in 1960, the book has now risen to number 38 in the bestseller charts.

David took to Facebook over the weekend to explain the novel name, revealing the ‘old English’ moniker is reference to the author. In a video message, he explained: ‘Victoria’s favourite book is To Kill A Mockingbird, it’s a very strong, passionate book and the author was Harper Lee, and that is where Harper came from.’

So that’s baby’s first trend sorted – mum will be so proud!
