Slumdog Millionaire star in running to be Daniel Craig's latest love interest
Freida Pinto is reportedly in the running to be the new Bond girl.
The Slumdog Millionaire actress is top of the franchise’s producers’ wish list to be Daniel Craig’s love interest in 007’s next outing.
According to reports out today, Freida was actually considered for a part in Quantum of Solace, but now she’s an international star – thanks to the massive success enjoyed by Slumdog Millionaire during the awards season – producers have invited her in to screen test for the next Bond film instead.
‘Freida came to the attention of the Bond team when they were casting Quantum of Solace,’ a source tells The Sun.
‘She was too young at the time to have a part as a love interest for a secret agent.
‘But she has blossomed into an incredibly stunning young woman and would look perfect on Daniel Craig‘s arm.’
Executive producer Barbara Broccoli clearly adored Slumdog Millionaire, as she’s also keen to have the director, Danny Boyle, behind the camera when they start shooting the new Bond film.
‘Danny Boyle is favourite to take the helm of the next movie,’ adds the source, ‘which would increase Freida‘s chances of a starring role.’
