Prince William and Kate Middleton have posed for a series of new snaps to mark their engagement, releasing the pictures over the weekend.
WILLIAM AND KATE'S WEDDING: ALL THE DETAILS
The official pictures were taken in the impressive Cornwall Room at St James’ Palace by celebrity photographer Mario Testino, who was a favourite with Princess Diana.
'They are in their prime and brimming with happiness,' Testino revealed of the magical moment he captured the snaps.
'I have never felt so much joy as when I see them together.'
The newly engaged couple look happier than ever as they posed for two different photos – a formal shot to the backdrop of grand surroundings, and a more relaxed picture of William and Kate snuggling up.
In fact they positively beam for the for the cameras in the first official pictures to commemorate their special day.
When they were dating it’s thought William and Kate made a pact never to touch in public, to try and avoid speculation on their relationship.
But now they are engaged, they have clearly scrapped the rule, and – in a departure from royal protocol – were happy to ditch formal pictures in favour of a more modern pose.
Plans for the April wedding are said to be in full swing, with the pair reportedly favouring a London hotel, close to Buckingham Palace for the reception.
