The star smoulders for the cameras on the front of her new album, Mess Little Raindrops

Cheryl Cole's long-awaited new single Promise This hits shelves in a matter of weeks, and now the X Factor starlet’s released the first pictures of her brand new album, Messy Little Raindrops.

The songstress been hard at work putting the finishing touches to her second solo soundtrack, and has worked with a whole host of famous names on the - including Dizzee Rascal, and top hit producer, Starsmith - on the album.

Sizzling for the cameras, Cheryl donned a range of rainbow colours for the new album artwork, adding some fierce spiked Leopard-print Louboutins and a slick of red nail polish to finish off the look.

Mrs C also sports her new, longer extensions in the slightly blurry snap, which was reportedly taken just weeks ago.

It’s thought the Cheryl refers to her breakup with hubby Ashley in several songs on the 11-track album, with one, Happy Tears reading: 'I cried when I heard you were cheatin'/I cried when I said I was leavin'/I cried when my heart stopped believin'/But I'm all out of tears.'

Right now, Cheryl’s promoting the album’s first single, Promise This, and has recently confirmed she'll perform the new track on the X Factor on October 24.
