E.L. James is up to something sneaky... and we're dying to know what it is.

The British author of Fifty Shades Of Grey shared an Instagram snap of her computer screen on Saturday. The pic is a little blurry, but the screen appears to show the beginning of a chapter of a book.

'It's been awhile...' she posted with the picture.

Since publishing the final instalment of her Fifty Shades trilogy, James has taken a break from writing in order to help bring her hit series to the big screen. Production is currently underway for the first film, which stars Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson and hits cinemas in February 2015.

There's been some speculation that James could be working on a new spin-off book to the Fifty Shades series. Though she did reveal to Entertainment Weekly at the end of last year that she's already completed a new, unrelated project.

'What I’d really like to be doing is sitting down in a little room writing my next book. I miss it so much,' she said. 'I've written another book...It's very different than Fifty.'

At the time, James revealed that her new book didn't yet have a publishing date - so perhaps she's just working on the final draft.

Either way, we can't wait to read it.
