X Factor judge signs for another series after £250,000 pay rise
Aussie star Dannii Minogue will return to the next series of The X Factor, after signing a whopping £1million deal.
After speculation that Minogue was being ousted by Simon Cowell when Cheryl Cole officially became Queen Bee of the judging panel last season, the 37-year-old has turned the tables, bagging a £250,000 pay rise and putting herself on a level-pegging with Cole.
Dannii has spent the last two months in her native Australia but returned to the UK yesterday after one friend revealed to the Daily Mail: ‘Dannii was finally persuaded that the show wanted her.’
Despite reported wranglings between the judges in the last series of The X Factor, Simon Cowell has backed Dannii’s corner and spoke out in February this year about his determination to get the star back on the judging panel for another series.
‘She was great last year and I am adamant she should be there for the next series,’ revealed Cowell. He also spoke of ‘recreating the excellent chemistry’ between the four judges.
Cowell’s powers of persuasion are certainly impressive, or maybe it’s simply that big, fat pay cheque, Dannii?
