The singer was apparently demanding a 'ridiculous' £5 million to return as a judge on the reality TV show

Dannii Minogue has apparently snubbed Simon Cowell's £1million deal to return to the X Factor, leaving the show without its fourth judge.

The Australian singer had been hotly tipped to take the place of Kelly Rowland on the talent TV show, but has pulled out after bosses failed to meet her £5million demands, according to reports.

KELLY ROWLAND WON'T RETURN TO X FACTOR

'We made it no secret that we wanted Dannii to come back and we thought we could make a deal,' a source told the Daily Mail paper. 'She asked for £5 million, which was silly money and clearly a negotiating tactic, a silly one at that.

'We were in talks until late on Wednesday night and went up to £1 million for the series. Everyone thought she would take it, but she didn't.

'We then walked away - as our feeling was that we wouldn't be held to ransom.'

However, sources in Dannii's camp have called the money rumours 'ridiculous' with one pal explaining: 'A million pounds is a huge deal.'

Adding: 'There was never any bid made for £5 million. If she wanted to do the show, she would have done it.'

It has been claimed that Dannii was still hurt after the revelations about her secret affair with Simon Cowell surfaced a few weeks ago, no doubt impacting on her final decision.

With Dannii out of the picture, X Factor bosses are frantically searching for a big name to join confirmed judges Louis Walsh, Gary Barlow and Tulisa in time for auditions in a few weeks.
