Catherine Zeta-Jones and husband Michael Douglas are 'taking some time apart,' according to their representatives
Catherine Zeta-Jones and husband Michael Douglas are ‘taking some time apart,’ according to their representatives.
Reports emerged yesterday that the A-list couple, who have been married for 13 years and have two children together, were ‘separated,’ after sources told People magazine that the two are ‘taking a break.’
We’re sad to say it’s official: reps for both Douglas and Zeta-Jones have released the following statement:
‘Catherine and Michael are taking some time apart to evaluate and work on their marriage. There will be no further comment.’
According to insiders, hardships the two faced as a couple over the years (like Douglas’ battle with throat cancer and CZJ’s bipolar disorder) have put a serious strain on both of them.
‘The stress has taken a toll on their marriage,’ a friend told People magazine.
The two haven’t been seen together on the red carpet since April and have most recently been spending holidays apart. According to People, neither star has filed for divorce.
