Britney Spears claims that the Material Girl helped her get her life back on track following her much-publicised breakdown

Comeback kid Britney Spears has certainly had her fair share of scandals. But it seems the singer is finally back on track, and the person she credits as helping her turn her life around might surprise you...

The 29-year-old singer claims pop veteran Madonna taught her how to listen to her instincts, bringing about her 180 degree turnaround in recent years.

Speaking to Harper's Bazaar, the mother-of-two revealed: ‘I guess she's really taught me to stay true to myself. That seems like a simple thing to say, but she taught me through action, not just by saying it.

‘There are so many people around you that have opinions, but you just have to listen to your instincts,’ she insisted.

The pair famously shared an on-stage smooch at the MTV Awards in 2003, and released the track Me Against The Music together.

Brit also praised fellow popstars Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber, labeling the teen sensation 'adorable'.

And could a third marriage and more kids be on the cards for the twice-divorcee?

The singer, who is currently dating agent Jason Trawick, revealed: 'I've thought about both, so if the timing was right…’
