Beyonce admits she has to work hard to stay in shape

Beyonce Knowles has been letting us in on how exactly she managed to lose her baby weight in just three months.

The superstar singer told Shape magazine that she gained 57lbs during her pregnancy with Blue Ivy.

With a comeback performance scheduled just three months after she gave birth, Beyonce admitted she found herself under pressure to lose weight.

‘I didn’t have a lot of time to lose the weight because I scheduled a show three months after I gave birth, which I would never do again!’ she told Shape magazine.

In the interview, Beyonce describes herself as someone who is ‘not naturally very thin,’ and who ‘has to work to keep her body in shape.’

The singer, who just debuted a teaser from her upcoming album, also told the magazine that she lost most of her post-baby weight loss just by cutting back on food.

‘I ate a very low-calorie diet. I stayed away from red meat and ate a lot of fish, replaced pasta and rice with quinoa,’ Beyonce said.

‘I always have breakfast, say, scrambled egg whites, a vegetable smoothie, or whole-grain cereal with low-fat milk. For lunch and dinner, I eat a lot of fish and vegetables. And throughout the day, I try to stay hydrated.’

‘I always treat myself to one meal on Sundays when I can have whatever I want,’ she added. ‘Usually it’s pizza, which is my favorite indulgence.’

Sounds simple enough. Now, pass us a big bag of quinoa.
