Beyonce kicked off a viral campaign yesterday by posting snaps to her official Facebook page
Beyonce lead a viral campaign in support of equal marriage yesterday, as the US Supreme Court heard cases challenging same-sex marriage bans.
Bey was joined by Madonna, who also came out in support of marriage equality, as the court heard arguments for Proposition 8, which challenges a same-sex marriage ban in California.
Taking to her official Facebook page, Beyonce posted a modified Human Rights logo, with the caption: ‘It’s about TIME!!! #EQUALITY #MarryWhoYouLove’.
Referencing her Single Ladies song, she added a handwritten note, which read: ‘If you like it you should be able to put a ring on it, #wewillunite4marriageequality’.
We couldn’t agree more.
Madonna also came out in support of the campaign, posting a note on her own Facebook page.
‘Marriage equality, let’s start a revolution,’ it read, ‘#marriage equality. A revolution of LOVE !!’
Beyonce and Madonna joined thousands taking to social networking sites to support equal marriage, as the first two cases were head in court.
It’s thought there will be a decision on both by June.
Earlier this week it was revealed Beyonce will headline a charity concert in London this summer. Bey will head the bill at Gucci’s Chime For Change charity concert at Twickenham Stadium on 1 June.
