'I feel like I won a contest. So sick.'

Ariana Grande and her new beau Pete Davidson have gone from zero to one hundred with their new relationship and while it’s been rumoured for a little while that the pair are now engaged, Pete finally confirmed the news. The Saturday Night Live cast member discussed how ‘lit’ their relationship was and how men in the street tip their hats to him now.

Pete was on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to promote his new Netflix film Set It Up, but the conversation quickly gravitated to his fiance Ariana (who happens to be a close friend of the host Jimmy Fallon).

Jimmy joked, ‘You know you didn’t have to get engaged to Ariana Grande to come on our show, right?’

With a big goofy grin on his face, Pete announced proudly, ‘But I did though.’

‘I feel like I won a contest. So sick,’ he continued.

The couple are believed to have started dating in May, after they both split from their long-term partners. Since then, they have featured heavily in one another’s social media and are said to have moved into a New York residence designed by celebrity architect Zaha Hadid. Ariana has starred multiple times as a musical guest on Pete’s show Saturday Night Live and it’s not impossible to imagine that brought the two closer together.

Jimmy asked Pete, ‘How are you handling [the engagement] right now?’

Pete’s next words had to be censored on the show, as he said, ‘It’s fucking lit, Jimmy. It’s so lit.’

The host, who seemed to be internally face palming over the actor’s language, couldn’t help but laugh.

‘It’s so funny because I’m walking down the street and dudes are walking by,’ Pete said.

He then tipped his hat, prompting laughter from the audience.

Pete continued, ‘Some dude comes to me and is like, ‘Yo dude, you gave me hope.’ And I was like, I didn’t know I was that ugly.’

Jimmy also pointed out one of Pete’s Ariana Grande tattoos on his neck, the singer’s iconic rabbit mask from her Dangerous Woman album cover. Joking that he was ‘forever known as her plus one’, he also couldn’t quite wrap his head around why people were so interested in him and their relationship.

He pointed out, ‘It’s weird because like the president’s trying to pardon himself and like fucking a porn star and it’s like, shouldn’t we care about that?’

‘No, we wanna know what you’re wearing,’ Jimmy deadpanned.

Although Pete and Ariana had a very speedy engagement, he seemed to imply that they would have a long engagement when Jimmy suggested they get hitched on his show. (Always looking for that ratings gold.)

Pete quickly derailed the interview when the topic turned to fellow interviewee Robert Pattinson, who he’s a major fan of. Instead of promoting his own film, he spent a good few minutes waxing lyrical about Robert’s film Good Time and claimed that Robert’s performance was Oscar-worthy - going as far as to say he was ‘one of the greatest actors of our generation’.

Wearing a shirt with Robert’s face on it from Good Time, he revealed that he brought a clip not of his own film but Robert’s - which is quite possibly one of the funniest moments ever on the programme.

His Instagram has also since become a Good Time fan account with a couple posts featuring Robert Pattinson’s character: including a photo of the shirt he wore on the show which seems to be a still from the film.

It seems like the loved up pair have been kept fairly busy. While Pete is off promoting his new Netflix film, Ariana’s also been gearing up for the release of her album Sweetener which is expected to drop mid-August this year.
