Angelina in hospital after suffering head injury on set
Angelina Jolie was taken to a hospital in Long Island, New York on Friday morning after suffering a head injury while filming an action sequence on set.
The mother-of-six was in the Big Apple shooting scenes for her upcoming thriller Salt.
Jolie, a.k.a Mrs Pitt, reportedly suffered a knock to the head that resulted in a minor cut between her eyes.
The Changeling actress was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure but was released after she was treated for her injury.
Spokesman for Columbia Pictures, Steve Elzer, said Angelina suffered ‘a minor bump to the head’ but is now ‘fine’.
The 33-year-old was back in front of the camera just hours after the incident occurred and production was able to resume.
In her new movie Jolie plays a CIA officer who absconds after being accused of being a Russian sleeper spy.
It was reported last year that the role had been initially earmarked for actor Tom Cruise, but the script and title were reworked when Angelina came on board.
The film, which also features X-Men Origins: Wolverine star Liev Schreiber, is set for release in the summer of 2010.
