Angelina Jolie and hubby-to-be Brad Pitt's wedding was never going to be ordinary, was it?

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's upcoming wedding was never going to be a traditional affair - but now it seems it might be even more unusual than we first thought.

According to reports, the couple have set their hearts on getting married onboard a cruise ship, previously chartered by the Queen.

Insiders say Angelina Jolie has beenmaking enquiries about tying the knot on the Hebridean Princess, a boat sailing off the Scottish coast, which is often used by the royal family.

And they're thinking of hiring the whole lot.

The vessel, which accommodates up to 50 guests, costs an eye-watering £300,000 to charter - a mere drop in the ocean (no pun intended!) for them.

So how did they come to the decision?

Sources say it was Angelina Jolie's son Maddox who came up with the ideas, after looking back at photos of their favourite scottish Holiday.

'It was Maddox who came up with the idea of the ship. He came across it after looking back at photos of the Carnell Estate in Ayrshire, where they stayed and all loved,' one insider told the Sun.

'So now they’ve made enquiries into booking the whole vessel.

The source added: 'It’s just what they’re after. It can hold up to 50 of their friends and family and serve as a traditional, romantic setting — all totally private.

'Or they could always sail to a secluded bay off the Orkney or Shetland islands and have the ceremony there. The kids are all hooked on old British voyages, so they would love it. The fact that Maddox found it makes it more special.'

Previous reports suggested Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were planning an ethnic ceremony at their sprawling Chateau Miravel in France.

While Brad was reportedly keen on a traditional wedding, it's thought Angelina wanted to reflect the different way people celebrate marriage around the world, in particular the home countries of their adopted brood, Maddox, 10, from Cambodia, Ethiopian Zahara, 7, and Vietnam-born Pax, 9.

'She wants to incorporate different ethnic wedding traditions from around the world into one alternative ceremony and event,' the insider revealed at the time.

'They both agree on the essentials, like the fact they want it to be a big celebration with their family and friends.'
