Designer Alice Temperley has been praising the Kate Middleton for boosting British fashion and the economy through her style choices.
Temperley spoke to the Telegraph about Kate and her sartorial choices at the launch of her Somerset by Temperley Collection – the designer’s first-ever UK high street range – at John Lewis, remarking:
‘She’s been brilliant for British fashion and great for the whole economy. There is no one else who has an effect like her. It has really brought British fashion to the forefront again.’
Temperley, who designed the black lace dress that the Duchess of Cambridge wore to the War Horse premiere in January 2012, and has also frequently dressed Kate‘s sister Pippa Middleton, is a fan of Kate‘s ability to flawlessly mix designer pieces with high street finds.
Not only is Kate Middleton known for recycling her favourite wardrobe pieces, she’s famed for teaming her LK Bennett with her Erdem and is as likely to be spotted in Hobbs as in Alexander McQueen.
‘She is a breath of fresh air and has encouraged people to experiment and combine high fashion with high street fashion. She is a really nice girl as well,’ Temperley told the Telegraph.
