Alexa Chung forced to defend her 'skinny' figure

The model was criticised by fans after posting a photograph of herself on Instagram

Alexa Chung innocently posted a photograph of her and her dear mum on Instagram when she was met with a barrage of criticism by her followers over her 'skinny' appearance.

Having shared the photograph with her fans, Chung seemed surprised and hurt at the backlash it received.

While some praised her general appearance and style, and some even said they were jealous of her legs, many others gave the former MTV presenter abuse.

Her pins were called 'gross,' disgustingly skinny' and 'unhealthy' - to quote just a few.

Clearly having had enough of her eating habits being discussed so publicly, Chung, 28, wrote: 'Hi, I am here. I can read.'

Before throwing in the towel and signing off: 'Ok everyone thanks for the teen angst discussions.'

She continued: 'People are different sizes. I'm not trying to be thinspo for anyone.

'I am now making this acct private. Byyyyyeeee.' (sic)
