Not what we were expecting...

We seem to be constantly swooning over these pair of lovebirds. Yep, Adele and her long-term boyfriend Simon Konecki are at it again as rumours are circulating that the pair (who have been together for five years) got engaged over the Halloween weekend.

It's thought that the couple are planning a small ceremony in LA and that most of the details will be kept on the down low. However, the Irish Mirror have reported that Adele's choice of caterer is a little unusual.

Apparently, rather than going to a professional caterer, Adele has asked her good friend Sid Owen (aka Ricky from EastEnders) to cater for her wedding. Sid recently appeared on Celebrity Masterchef and made it all the way to the semi-final, so we know that he's actually pretty decent in the kitchen.

A close friend of Adele and Simon said: 'Only a few of their very closest friends will be there, but Sid will definitely be involved and they've talked to him about food.

'They haven't got fancy tastes. They could have almost any of the world's best chefs but it's just not who they are. Having one of their closest friends help out instead would mean a lot more to them.'

Some might think it's an interesting choice, but we think it's pretty nice that Adele has chosen a good friend to help out on her big day, and just shows how down-to-earth she is.

News that the pair were engaged broke at the end of October. Just weeks after Simon surprised Adele on stage with love notes, a friend of the couple reportedly broke the news that they may be headed down the aisle, according to the Mirror, saying: ‘They've decided it's the right time to think about making that step.’

‘They won’t make a big song and dance about it,’ the friend continued. ‘That’s not the way either of them are, and you won’t see Adele walking around with a huge diamond on her finger flaunting it. But they’re ready to take the next step and both very excited about the prospect. Adele has had an amazing time on tour and is enjoying performing to fans - but she’s looking forward to spending some quiet time at home with her family after 10 months on the road.’

Following Simon's romantic stunt, the Grammy-award winning singer gushed to the crowd that she plans to try for a second baby, so the pair certainly seem to be very happy. The couple already have a little boy called Angelo James Konecki, who is three-years-old.

Adele also praised her boyfriend publically at the Brit Awards, saying: ‘I’m so lucky to have you love me the way you do.’

While the star hasn't confirmed the news herself, or hinted at anything on social media, she did post a series of candid Instagram snaps over the weekend. Showing off her natural beauty, the 28-year-old went make-up free in the black and white images that gave a rare peek into her life backstage and how she celebrates Halloween on tour:
