Landing a role in the most talked-about movie of the year is one thing... but getting Brad Pitt to say you're worthy of the part of Christian Grey has got to be as good as it gets

50 Shades Of Grey's Charlie Hunnam has received much criticism for landing the role in the controversial S&M-themed movie, so we imagine he's on cloud nine today after hearing what Brad Pitt has to say about him.

The actor was questioned about the role of Christian Grey – and Charlie's casting in the adaptation – while promoting his own new movie 12 Years A Slave at the Toronto Film Festival this week. And he said: 'I know Charlie, he’s a great guy!

The 49-year-old then told Access Hollywood: 'He’s a good egg and one of the guys that are putting story and craft first.'

Wow. Does this mean Brad's aware of the nature of the scenes Charlie will be filming with Dakota in the coming weeks?

It's not yet known exactly what rating the film will be given, but the graphic sex scenes are likely to be the subject of much discussion between author E L James, director Sam Taylor-Johnson and producer Dana Brunetti.

Charlie has already expressed how content his long-term girlfriend Morgana McNelis is without he explicit scenes, saying: 'She is required to share certain parts of me with the world that she wouldn’t necessarily choose to do, but we have a great relationship, and she loves me and wants to be with me and we’ve been together a long time now, and I think she understands and has come to terms with the fact that there are certain elements of me that she is going to have to share.

'This is an extreme example of that, but thankfully we do have seven and a half years of history together, so it won’t be a big problem.'

Brad Pitt doesn't seem to think so. We can't wait.
