Model Cara Delevingne is apparently desperate to be part of the Fifty Shades Of Grey movie cast

Fifty Shades of Grey has a new bright eyed and bushy-browed cast contendor as Cara Delevingne has supposedly auditioned for a secondary part in the hotly-anticipated movie adaptation.

The racy read is said to be 20-year-old Cara's next big acting project after she made her acting debut in Anna Karenina, alongside Keira Knightley.

A source told The Sun today: 'Cara is a front-runner for a part. She’s desperate to get the gig and has always said that she wanted to be taken seriously as an actress.'

Cara has some strong links behind the cameras that might help her on her way with her acting ambition – model Cara became acquainted with Anna Karenina actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson well during filming, and now lucky for Cara, his wife Sam has taken on the Fifty Shades of Grey project.

The source continued: '[Cara] is a global icon now and a good actress as well and Sam wants her in the movie – though which part exactly hasn’t been established.'

Cara proves that it's good to have friends in high places, as her popular socialite sisters Poppy and Chloe know Sam through their public school pals, which the source went on to say puts Cara in a good position for a 'decent role'.

'[Cara's] agent has also been talking to Kelly Marcel, the screenplay writer,' said the insider. 'And, if needs be, a strong role will be written in for her.'

The model landed another hot movie role this week in the upcoming Brit movie, Kids In Love.
