Nadine Coyle reveals weight-loss secret
By Lucy Hutchings on Tuesday 23 March 2010
Nadine Coyle has blasted critics who claim she is too skinny, claiming her recent weight-loss is the result of a healthy running regime.
The Girl Aloud faced a wave of criticism claiming that she was too thin, but has fought back, saying: 'People should stop bullying me about my weight. One minute they say I'm too plump, the next they say I'm too thin. I can never win.'
'Everyone is always speculating about my weight, saying I don't eat. Why don't they just leave me alone?' she added.
Speaking to Closer Magazine, the singer did admit to losing 10lb over the last two months, but attributes running to her changing figure.
'I am totally happy with my weight. I'm not unhealthy at all!' she said. 'I'm just doing a lot of running with my trainer back home in LA.'
Coyle lives in the States with her American football player boyfriend, Jason Bell. She has been working on her first solo album, while on a hiatus from Girls Aloud.

Omg some people are so jealous or what??!! I rather have people walking around looking like Nadiner. I'm sick of see FAT people with the gut hanging out everywhere I go!! It's called self control people!

There's no way she has got this thin from running, her calves would have got bigger if she runs like she says she does!

Well i think she is just totally perfect, so long as she is healthy, and she certainly looks it.
I am also very slim, and very healthy, and i get people going on at me all the time, so i know how she feels.
Its a shame some of the obese people dont take a leaf out of her book, and get up off there buts and take up some exercise, im sure they would feel so much better for loosing some weight and getting healthy at the same time, instead of sitting there mocking us that look after ourselves, they just havnt got what it takes to say no to all the rubbish they eat.
Well done Nadine for looking after yourself, you look fab!

There is a vast difference to 'guts hanging out' which I agree looks horrendous than a lovely girl suddenly looking haggard and bony!
No...Im not big, fat or otherwise....

I thought she looked absolutely gorgeous when she was a little bit curvier - not that she was ever particularly 'curvy' but she had a nice shape and always looked radiant. In recent photos of her she looks emancipated and unhealthy. I feel sorry for her though, it must be horrible to have so much speculation about your weight and feel like you can never win - I wish she'd just stay the way she was!

...would think that this is also to do with the situation of Girls Aloud..split or not split..stress possible..

@Becca
Running actually does make the weight drop off with no increase in muscle bulk- long distance running will increase muscular endurance without adding the strength (and therefore size) required by sprinting and therefore cause weight loss- have you ever seen a marathon runner that had a bit of wobble to them? But 10lbs in 2 months is a little excessive and points to some serious pavement pounding hours though which is slightly worrying...
I do agree that there is too much of a culture of acceptance surrounding fatness now-a-days though. It is proven that being fit at a larger size gives almost negligible health benefits when compared with being thinner and more sednetary. PUT DOWN THE CAKE....
