Angelina Jolie named beauty icon of the decade

Angelina Jolie has been crowned the decade's ultimate beauty queen, pipping Jennifer Aniston to the top spot, who came in at number two.

The mother-of-six was named the Noughties' top beauty in a poll of 3,000 women by Superdrug. According to the research, Jolie topped the charts for her infamous bee-sting pout and tumbling dark locks, which have become the envy of women worldwide.

Steve Jebson, commercial director for Superdrug commented: 'Angelina Jolie is not a conventional beauty but her strong character shines through her fabulous features to give her a unique standing in the beauty world. It's worth noting that while everyone talks about Angelina's pout we find that its her long thick lustrous hair that really makes British women envious, as well as a figure made for red carpet posturing'

And it wasn't just Hollywood's finest catching the eye of the world's women. Cheryl Cole took her place at number five, Kylie Minogue rocked in at third and flying the flag for Wales, Catherine Zeta Jones came in fourth.

Scarlett Johansson, Keira Knightley, Beyonce Knowles, Liv Tyler and Halle Berry completed the top ten.

I disagree, Angelina Jolie looks rough at best, and has lank thinning hair and a receding hairline.
Why any female would vote this monstrosity as the number one beauty icon evades me.

I've never understood the obsession with her. I don't think she's beautiful at all and more often than not looks pale, gaunt and skeletal. Personally I think Jennifer Aniston, Beyonce or Halle Berry should have been top.

I think Beyonce should have won this one.
Beyonce represents strong, beautiful women. She is all about grace and elegance, which is something Angelina (and Keira Knightley, for that matter) only can dream about.
Do we really want to remember the Noughties as the decade of the skeletons??

I think she is gorgeous. Not conventionally "pretty" but she had character in her features and I think she definately wins this top list.

Not only is Angelina beautiful but she appears to be passionately committed to her family and her humanitarian work. She's the perfect choice!

I disagree with this vote. Her lips are repulsively pouty and in all her film roles they look very crackling and dry! Anyone who thinks her lips are sexy have to look at them again! Her hair is acceptable but I have seen better.

Beauty is also from the inside. I think a home-wracking selfish person like her should not be voted top. Yes is 10 years younger than Jennifer Aniston, so I think Jennifer should win everytime! What AJ doing with all those kids she has collected, like prizes, is the most irresponsible act I have ever seen.

i think angelina is a well worthy winner, i cant think of any other actress with such beauty both inside and out, she deserves to be beauty icon of the decade, brad pitt sure knows beauty when he sees it. x

People, stop hating.
I didn't use to like her back then, but now, I believe she's great. Who else can manage a career in acting, a big family, and volunteering for the United Nations?!
You say she looks rough, super skinny, and all that, but you're not gonna say that beyonce is voluptuous, or that anniston looks rough without pitt.
Now if you hate her lips, you have to remember that thousands of women get their lips done, that millions want to give their lips a bigger and fuller look by wearing lip gloss.

I wouldn't agree with Angelina, I don't know of anyone attempting to copy her 'style.' She always looks the same, and if personality or beauty without makeup are to be considered, she really lacks

Angelina is a beautiful woman. She has an amazing smile and her skin is flawless. She deserves to be at the top. All her charity work shows she has a heart of gold.

I think she definitely deserves this...she's absolutely gorgeous woman with a big heart!
She gives so much to a charity and by adopting those kids she really gives them a better life!
