Nicole Richie shows off new brunette locks

Blondes clearly don't have more fun in the eyes of Nicole Richie - the stylista has ditched her honey-hued locks for a new darker 'do.

Stepping out for the launch of her latest House of Harlow jewellery collection in California, the mum-of-two gave her new look its red carpet debut, and looked positively radiant, showing off her enviable curves in a daring low-cut little white dress.

And while she has favoured lighter locks, in varying shades of ash and platinum, over the last couple of years, she has switched to the other end of the colour spectrum, opting for a rich chocolate shade.

So why the change? She told US Magazine at the launch: 'I change my hair colour all the time, and I hadn't done it in a few years. With the babies, I just really hadn't had time. I'm so used to having that change... I was just ready and sick of being blonde!
