Julia Roberts is Lancôme's latest Pretty Woman

She's the original Pretty Woman, so it's no surprise that Julia Roberts will be putting that famous smile to good use, as the new global ambassadress for beauty giant Lancôme.

Despite keeping a relatively low profile since the birth of her twins, the actress has joined the brand's impressive stable of A-listers, that already includes the likes of Anne Hathaway, Kate Winslet, Juliette Binoche and Clive Owen.

Youcef Nabi, president of Lancôme International commented: 'By her remarkable personality and career, Julia Roberts is an emblematic woman of her time.

'Her exceptional talent, her radiance and her strong commitments perfectly echo Lancôme's values. We are convinced she will embody the brand in the most sublime way possible.'

The specifics of Roberts role remain under wraps, but are expected to be announced shortly. Surprisingly, this is the first time that she has signed up to represent a beauty company.
