Twilight's Kirsten Stewart and Robert Pattinson set new beauty trend

By Louise O'Connell  on Friday 27 November 2009

Robert Pattinson Kristen Stewart - Asked out 'a lot' on set, Twilight, Eclipse - Marie Claire

Are you set for Kirsten Stewart's and Robert Pattinson's Twilight trend? Got your Twilight Lip Venom lipgloss? Check! Booked your Twilight spa treatment? Check! Got your pale foundation? No? Oh, dear. Do keep up.

The latest Twilight-inspired beauty trend to hit critical mass is for pale-skinned beauties only (but plenty are working out how to fake it).

The orange glow of self-tan has been slowly fading since spring last year as more of us want a natural look, but the new Twilight phenomenon has firmly cemented pale skin as a beauty must-do.

Sales of pale foundations have shot through the roof since the release of this year's hottest film, Twilight: New Moon.

Cosmetic companies have seen a 200 per cent rise in customers snapping up pale foundation powders and liquids, which coincides with the Twilight: New Moon film.

According to online beauty shop FeelUnique.com, its best-selling product is now a fine, pale pink illuminating powder by Bare Escentuals called Mineral Veil. Meanwhile sales of L'Oreal's True Match powder in Rose Ivory have also risen by 133 per cent.

We are loving this new vampy look because it goes so well with so many other looks: the smoky eye, the just-bitten red lip and of course the latest gothic glam look as debuted by the stars at the Twilight: New Moon premiere.

I'll keep my Cherokee "kist by the sun" olive complexion, thank you.

Skin colour shouldn't be baised on fashion.
It'd be wonderful if women just kept their natural look without trying to change, whether that be porcelain white, olive, black or anything in between.
I am stark white and remain so throughout all months.

I'm naturally pale so it's nice being in fashion for once!
